Led by Chris Martinkat, they received a facility tour, witnessing firsthand the expertise of the team. Mike Kingston, R&D Engineer, and Dustin Mayle, Director of Technical Service & Development, showcased the creation process of a running track sample, offering valuable insights into the company’s innovative practices.
The group also gained invaluable insights into safety protocols within the facility, courtesy of Lorenzo Garcia, dedicated EHS Manager. They had the opportunity to observe operators Tommy Nicholson and Shane Donaldson expertly load totes of #Stobielast product, with a thorough explanation of the safety controls involved.
Excitement showed as the Elite Climbers anticipate their upcoming visit to STOCKMEIER Urethanes in Germany this May, where they'll further explore global operations!
What is the Chambers Elite Climbers Program?
It is a supplemental two-year program that provides additional personal and professional growth opportunities to student-athletes chosen through a competitive application process. Each cohort will dive deeper into key areas of interest – entrepreneurship and innovation, technology, financial education, and communications – through a variety of educational resources, complete a study-abroad experience, and select a West Virginia-focused humanitarian venture to pursue each year.
The Climbers program is part of the 5th Quarter Program launched by Head Coach Neal Brown in 2020. It aims to serve and develop total Mountaineers by preparing student-athletes for success on the playing field as well as life beyond graduation. Read more here:
